Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)
The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) of 1974 (20 U.S.C. § 1232g; 34 CFR Part 99) protects the privacy of students who are legally adults. Parents cannot access student records, including course grades unless students sign a FERPA waiver. FERPA waivers must be signed every quarter. FERPA waivers can be obtained at the CHASS Student Affairs Office (3400 HMNSS). For more information regarding FERPA, please visit the Registrar's website.
